Theophilos 42 was a basilikos spatharios and komes of the stabloi; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century: Zacos and Veglery 2519. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with τω - σω - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: Θεοφ[ ι] - λω β' σπαθ - (καὶ) κομητ' του - σταβλου. The name and titles read: Θεοφίλῳ βασιλικῷ σπαθαρίῳ καὶ κόμητι τοῦ στάβλου.
