Raginpert 1 was the son of the Lombard king Godepert 1; when his father was assassinated by Grimoald 3 (in c. 662) he was still in infancy; he was rescued by loyal servants of his father and brought up secretly; because of his age, Grimoald 3 made no attempt to find him: Paul.
