Nikodoxos 1 was mist(eriakos?) or perhaps meizoteros (see below); owner of a seal dateable to the ninth or tenth century: Schlumberger, Sig., p. 547, no. 14 (facsimile). Obv.: invocative monogram of Χριστὲ βοήθει with the legend τῷ σῷ δούλῳ. Rev.: Νηκο - δοξου - μηστ. The name and title may read: Νηκοδόξου μηστ(ηριακοῦ). The third letter in the last line of the reverse appears from the facsimile however to have been a zeta; his title may therefore have been μηζτ, perhaps representing μιζ(ο)τ(έρου).
