Maurianos 1 was a Roman general in Armenia (τὴν Ἀρμενίαν ἐπεστράτευσε καὶ περιτυχὼν Μαυριανόν, τὸν τῶν Ῥωμαίων στρατηγόν), in 653/654 he was pursued by the Arabs under Abibus 1 as far as the Caucasus: Theoph. AM 6145. Further see Mango and Scott, p. 481, note 5.
