Konstantinos 249 was patrikios, protospatharios and strategos of the Thrakesioi; owner of a seal dateable to the ninth century: DOSeals III 2.40 = Zacos and Veglery 1819. Obv.: cruciform monogram of uncertain type, with τω - ς. - δου - λω in the corners. Rev.: - .σταν - ατρικιω - .' σπαθ' και στ - τ' των. - ρακ'. The name and titles read: Κωνσταντίνῳ πατρικίῳ, πρωτοσπαθαρίῳ καὶ στρατηγῷ τῶν Θρᾳκησίων. According to Winkelmann (Rangstruktur, p. 84), the text was read by Shandrovskaia and Sokolova as: [β(ασιλικῷ) α']σπαθ(αρίῳ).
