Bardas 29 was a basilikos spatharios and epi tou manglabiou; owner of a seal dateable to the second half of the ninth century: Zacos and Veglery 1760. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with [τ]ω - σω - [δ]ου - λω in the corners. Rev.: +Βαρδα - [β] σπατηαριωι - [και] επι του μ[αγ] - γλαβιου. The name and titles read: Βάρδᾳ βασιλικῷ σπαθαρίῳ καὶ ἐπὶ τοῦ μαγγλαβίου. The beta of the name Βάρδᾳ is in the form of a Roman capital R, indicating a date not before the early to mid ninth century.
