Baanes 17 was a koubikoularios and basilikos chartoularios; owner of two seals dateable to the seventh century: Zacos and Veglery 1086a and 1086b. The name and titles read: Βαάνῃ κουβικουλαρίῳ καὶ βασιλικῷ χαρτουλαρίῳ. Possibly identical with a correspondent of pope Vitalian (a letter dated 27 Jan. 668); see PmbZ 710.
