Anonymus 489 was a basilikos protospatharios and strategos of Sicily; owner of a seal dateable between the mid eighth century and the mid ninth; his name is lost: Zacos and Veglery 2632A. Obv.: cruciform monogram of Θεοτόκε βοήθει, with τω - σω - δου - .ω in the corners. Rev.: .... - . β' α' . - παθα' και - .τρατηγ - .ικελ'. The titles read: ... βασιλικῷ πρωτοσπαθαρίῳ καὶ στρατηγῷ Σικελίας.
